There are basically two
types of slot games when you view them from a pay out
perspective. There is the slot game that doesn't pay out very often but
when it does it is usually a very nice win, and there is the kind of
slot game that pays out more often but lesser-sized jackpots. We can
call them "frequent payers" and "big but less often payers" ... perhaps
"big payers" would be a shorter version and still allow us to note the
difference between the two.
Frequent
payer slot machine games can be spotted because they usually have a
bunch of ways to get paid which might include free spins, multipliers,
bonus screens or a number of other innovative means to give out money.
Big
payers generally have a limited number of ways for the player to get
paid and the easiest example I can give are the three reel single pay
line slot games. There are big payers with multiple pay lines also.
Some types of slot games
mix the two and you usually end up with slot games that pay out
less often and when they do pay out it is for lesser sized amounts.
These are the slot games that hit you over the head and steal your
wallet rather than settle for getting a little bit at a time. They will
be easy to spot once you've started playing one. Of course it will cost
to find out but there's really no way of knowing or naming a slot game
that is like the above mentioned because they more than the other kind
will greatly depend upon how high the payout percentage will be as to
whether that kind of game is worth playing and in most cases the payout
percentage on slot machines is set by the casino though they all have
minimums installed as defaults which is done at the factory and the
minimum is decided by state authorities.
Las Vegas has a minimum of 75%
and other places in the states have a slightly higher minimum if memory
serves me correctly. In the case of online casinos a minimum is set by
the parent software company and they do this out of self-preservation
since they wouldn't want their software getting a reputation of having
tight slots as a bad reputation amongst players is no enticement to
casino owners to be seeking to pay the outrageous yearly cost of
licensing fees to be using that brand of casino games.
In the end its really
up to the player as to which types of slot games they prefer to play. Are
you seeking to hit the big payer at the risk of reaching very deep into
your bankroll and enduring long expensive gaps between wins or do you
prefer to win smaller sized jackpots but on a more regular schedule?
