RTG Slots Tip Concerning Credit Values
Resetting
RTG (Real Time Gaming) powered slots games act
differently than do other slot machines in that they seem to reset every
time you change credit values.
This is important to know if you are like myself and
enjoy betting more when you're winning.

Valued patrons may remember having read in my slot
tips section about how I like to up my credit values whenever I'm winning. A
not so uncommon endeavor I would imagine and for those who actively seek to
beat the casino over the long run, its not a bad strategy.
My best advice is that you should
figure you're not going to come out ahead when playing the casino because
gambling is an entertainment which has a price.
Anyway the problem with the RTG slots is that it is
obvious the game resets whenever you change credit values. Does this mean we
have been moved to a different game? Does it matter anyway?
First the good news. It seems this is an issue to happen only with the older games (which means all the three
reel games, and about half the video slots).
To answer the previous questions of whether the game
has changed or if it matters: I think it really is a matter of perspective.
Why this may not be important to you
Slot Machine Spins are Independent of One
Another
It is true that each and every spin of a slot machine in today's
tech-based world is independent of the other and therefore no such thing as
being "due" exists.
An excellent example would be that the chances of hitting a jackpot
on today's slot machines whether virtual or not, are exactly the
same the very next spin after hitting a jackpot ... as they would be if the
jackpot had not been paid out for ten times longer than the time before.
I guess that wasn't an excellent example because I
offer this one to explain the above. A coin is tossed and it comes up heads
for nine times in a row. Are the odds in favor of the coin coming up tails
on the tenth toss?
No. Never. The odds will always be 50/50. Each coin
toss is independent of the other. Now the odds of the coin coming up heads
for ten times in a row ... bet before hand ... are staggering. But the odds
of any one single coin toss ... no matter how many times before it came up
heads (or tails) ... they will always remain 50/50.
So in that respect it shouldn't matter in the least
that the games reset when you change credit values. I would suggest to Real
Time Gaming however that it certainly does not send a feeling of confidence
to players to have the games that way.
My final thoughts on the RTG slots resetting when
the credit values are changed is to be cautious. Play the games the way you
would even if they didn't reset, but be extra quick to back your wagers back
down if the wins don't start coming in an acceptable fashion after you've
changed the credit values.
One last final thing, most assuredly my own
sarcastic take, but whenever I back down the credit values it seems like I
hit a small win within the next ten spins. Murphy's law? Probably. But as
gamblers it is always hard for us to not suspect something fishy when
something like that happens. In truth ... I know it's all just a part of
gambling. :)
